Field and context

The Gullfaks field lies on the Tampen Spur in ~130-220-m water depth, discovered in 1978 and producing since 1986. It produces primarily oil with associated gas, from multiple Jurassic and Triassic sandstone formations. Gullfaks has three main concrete platforms (A, B, C) with extensive subsea tie-backs.
