Field and context

The Sleipner Øst field lies on the Utsira High ~250-km west of Stavanger and began production in 1993. Discovered in 1981, it produces dry gas and condensate from Paleocene and Jurassic sandstones (Ty, Hugin and Heimdal formations). Sleipner A also handles hydrocarbons from satellite fields Sigyn, Gungne, Gudrun, Gina Krog and Utgard through tie-backs.
