Field and context

The Excalibur gas field is part of the Arthurian gas fields in the Southern North Sea, they are a series of small Lower Permian Rotliegend sandstone gas accumulations named after Arthurian legend. Discovered in the early 1990s, production from Excalibur commenced in the mid-1990s, contributing into the regional Lancelot/LAPS export network.
