Field and context

South Morecambe is a mature gas-condensate field in the East Irish Sea, discovered in 1974 and first producing in 1985. The reservoir comprises shallow marine sands within Permian-Triassic sequences. It is developed with multiple fixed platforms tied back to the CPC and has historically been one of the UK's major gas supplies.
