Field and context

The Ninian field in the northern North Sea was discovered in 1974 and hosts prolific oil reservoirs in Middle Jurassic Brent Group sandstones. The field was one of the UK's major producers, with recoverable oil in the order of billions of barrels, developed with multiple fixed platforms including Central, Southern, and formerly Northern.
