Field and context

The Captain field, located in Block-13/22a in the Outer Moray Firth, is a large oil and gas accumulation discovered in 1977. It produces from Upper Captain sands and other reservoirs. The field was developed using a combination of platform infrastructure and an FPSO vessel to handle crude production and gas export, with enhanced oil recovery projects added later to extend life.
